I was looking to watch some regional cinema.
And I stumbled upon this film HEY SINAMIKA, starring Dulquer and Aditi Rao Hydari.
The couple are happily wed and it appears so. ( Yazhaan ) Dulquer is a happy, home building husband, ever talkative, and caring. He takes care of all and sundry at home. Yazhaan has absolutely no issues in making food, ordering or taking care of the laundry. Ever bubbly and confident. He is so outspoken that Mouna kinds of keeps him away from some events she goes to. She feels he’s going to embarrass himself because of his outspoken nature which he mostly does.
I love the chemistry between the two. Aditi Rao Hydari emotes deeply and its such a beautiful cut into the human character. Dulquer is a master of playing small and sundry character.
The plot takes a twist turn, when Mouni has an on-site at work. And there is a competition with another employee, as to who would go there. The other person sites reasons as to he has troubled relationship with his wife. Mouni does not have any strong reason , so she pretends and builds that she is also divorcing from her husband. So she needs an on-site project. And finally she gets the work.
Mouna drives to Pondicherry and did I tell you, she is a an expert on storms and the effect they have on buildings.
As, Mouna, who has come to feel her husband talks a lot is happy of some freedom from her husband. But, then suddenly, as the second work day is coming to close! Lo! She finds Yazhaan has come to Pondicherry. And greets her with “ darling”.
Fed up, she wants a divorce and hires a psychiatrist to fall in love with her husband. So, that she can cite it as a reason to divorce him.
While Yazhaan has taken up a job as a local jockey. And in fact, he is becoming popular with both men and women . To Mouni’s irritation.
In the process of the doctor making Yazhaan fall for her, Mouni realises she still loves Yazhaan.
She asks the doctor to step back, but the doctor claims she is in love with Yazhaan. And to top it all off, Yazhaan, realises what Mouni tried to do. and he decides to part ways with both Mouni and the psychiatrist.
I loved the depth of the emoting of Mouni, Yazhaan, and Doctor Malarvizhi. Kajal Aggarwal as the doctor stuns with her emotional breath.
Fun watch, I enjoyed it !
