A Celebration of Theatre in Pune
The grand festival of Pune's finest plays, Pune Natyasattak 2026, is set to welcome the audience. This festival, now in its tenth year, stands as Pune's premier theatre festival. Organised by Wide Wings Media, it takes place annually in January. The festival concludes with an all-night 'Natyasattak Rajani' theatrical celebration.
Presented by Wide Wings Media and powered by Zapurza, this theatrical extravaganza will unfold over six days at five prestigious theatres in Pune. With 22 participating groups and 29 theatrical performances, the festival covers a diverse range of arts. Expect to see acting, children's drama, monologues, epics, one-act plays, two-act plays, dance dramas, mime acts, solo acts, and comedy plays.
Festival Schedule and Highlights
This year, the festival will be held on January 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18 at five of Pune's best theatres: Bharat Natya Mandir, The Box, The Box Too, Balgandharva Rangmandir, and Shreeram Lagoo Rang-Avkash.
On Friday, January 9th, the play Marcia, performed by Vikas Patil and Purva Kaushik, will mark the beginning of "Pune Natyasattak'26". The festival promises a treat for the audience with a variety of performances. Notable acts include:
Vaman Akhyan, based on the life struggles of Dashavatari artist Vaman Chaulkar.
Bohada, a long play that received the Outstanding Ensemble award at Thespo 27.
A Stolen Prophecy, a mime act that won second prize at Maunaantar 2025.
Children's plays Jhilmil and Aabhal.
The puppet show Happy Hour.
Muktai, a solo play written and directed by Digpal Lanjekar.
Ankush Unchained, a long-act play adapted and performed by Niranjan Pedanekar.
Mahapur, a golden jubilee play written by Satish Alekar, starring Aaroh Velankar and Renuka Daftardar. This play has been selected for the Kala Ghoda Festival 2026.
