Maunaantar 2018 in it's fifth consecutive year will take place in both Pune and Mumbai from 6th July to 8th July. The organizers this year are 'Dreams 2 Reality' 'Wide Wings Media' and 'Fairytale Media Studio' . The winning plays will also be performed during the prize distribution ceremony. Maunaantar is a pioneering competition in the Mime Act in the city and the state. A melange of gestures and music without lyrics give it a unique texture. It could be challenging for some and comfortable for some.
MIME
The act of mime is synonymous with Charlie Chaplin. It is basically enacting a story with the body without any body motions. Some popular mime artists are Jacques Copeau, Étienne Decroux and Jacques Lecoq. The organizers see the competition as an ac without uttering even a single word. The expressions, movements and acting are the tools the artist uses. Everyone is welcome for this mime competition. Come participate and bring out the French masters in you. The organizers look at the facial expressions, hand signals and body motions. The competition will have all the aspects of a one-act play competition. They are set, lights, music and makeup.
